Throughout my 20 year career, I’ve successfully built a $1B business segment for a large public company, guided the turnaround of a distressed $100M+ revenue business, launched and sold a venture-backed startup, and led the rise of one of the world’s fastest growing B2B SaaS businesses. I have co-founded companies and led initiatives across predictive analytics, big data, loyalty marketing, SaaS, Fintech and enterprise mobile.

Today I lead ETW Advisors, a firm that helps early companies to launch, young businesses to grow, and maturing enterprises to reach scale. I’ve helped raise more than $200M in capital from seed stage through growth, and since 2012, valuations for my clients have risen more than 10x, with multiple companies approaching rarified unicorn status.

My mission is to serve founders, and I’ve been fortunate to have had great success across an array of domains. My experience allows me to give back to those early stage companies that bring new technological art to the world.

Ever since I joined my first startup in 1996, I’ve enjoyed working with small, driven teams, helping to transform cutting edge technologies into real businesses. My first two startups revolutionized fiber-optic telecommunications, resulting in two acquisitions both in the Top 10 Largest VC-Backed M&A Deals of All Time. After the .com crash, I shifted my sights to consumer internet and started one of the world’s first social networks, hi5.com, which grew to 60M MAU. When the first smartphone came out, I bootstrapped a startup that organically attracted 15M installs.

Beyond my life as an operator, I’ve tried to contribute positively to the startup ecosystem in a variety of ways. I’ve personally invested in more than 50 startups and have served as an advisor to a litany of others. I know now that the biggest need for an entrepreneur isn’t capital; it’s good advice. So, I joined ETW Advisors, a firm that provides trusted counsel to startup founders as they grow their business from idea to scale.
